Scams of various schemes may show up as an email from some source that looks legitimate.
- Remember, no bank, financial institution or government agency is going to ask you for private information that they already have.
- A common scam is one where the sender represents himself as an exiled or out-of-favor royalty in some African country, but who have several million dollars in some account that he/she is willing to share 50/50 – if you will send money to help them get to a place or create the conditions where they are able to access the funds. Don’t fall for this one. Some people have and ended up losing tens of thousands of dollars.
